When it’s cold out, I typically only want to consume hot tea, red wine, and whiskey. It’s just the truth. I’ve been dabbling in whiskey cocktails this winter since we nearly exhausted our favorite cocktail from the fall: the Maple Whiskey Sour by Jaylynn Little. We made soooo many of these. Seriously. You gotta try it.
Last weekend, I tried something new and thanks to winter citrus season, this beauty was born. It has such a beautiful ruby red color, due to freshly squeezed blood orange, and I immediately thought of Valentine’s Day when I poured it.
Why is it called the Kiss Kiss Cocktail you ask? Because why not.
Makes 2 cocktails
2.5 shots guava nectar (I used this one)
2.5 shots whiskey
1 blood orange, juiced
1 lemon, juiced
2 dashes orange bitters
1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker and wet shake. Strain into a chilled coup glass, top with thin wheel of blood orange, and serve.
